Military Pay
There was a time when a soldier was thankful for an operable musket and guaranteed daily rations when he signed on for military duty. Things are different in today's armed forces, where a dizzying number of pay and allowances options (more than 70 by last count) means that you need to understand what you're receiving, what you deserve, and how to correct problems or get questions answered.
We make it easy for you. This site covers all of the information you need to know about pay—from basic pay to special pays and allowances to retirement information. Where information is updated or may change unexpectedly, we provide links to authoritative military sources, so you can be sure to get the right data.
Once you understand the basics of your pay benefits, take advantage of new technology offered by the Defense Finance and Accounting Service (DFAS) through its online myPay program.
Through the automated program, you can view, print, and save leave and earnings statements and tax statements; change federal and state tax withholdings; and update bank account and electronic fund transfer information, among other services.
In addition, the site helps you stay on top of changes in pay rates and other pay-related news that can affect the amount of money you take home every month.
